1. Roles
For customer data submitted to the platform, the customer is generally the controller or business, and Novaverb acts as processor or service provider, unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.
2. Processing scope
Novaverb processes customer data to provide the service, including account management, crawling, auditing, search integrations, reporting, AI-assistant responses, support, security, billing, and reliability.
3. Customer instructions
Novaverb processes customer data according to the agreement, product configuration, customer instructions, and applicable law. Customers are responsible for ensuring they have a lawful basis to submit or connect data to Novaverb.
4. Subprocessors
Novaverb may use subprocessors for hosting, infrastructure, security, email, payments, analytics, support, AI infrastructure, and search data. The Subprocessors page identifies categories and may list providers as the platform matures.
5. Security measures
Novaverb applies technical and organizational measures designed to protect customer data against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure.
6. Categories of data subjects and personal data
Two groups of people are covered by this addendum.
Your own users: the people you invite into your account and workspaces. For them Novaverb processes name, email address, role and permissions, authentication and session records, activity and audit logs, support correspondence, and billing contact details.
Visitors to your website, if you install the Novaverb tag on it: for them Novaverb processes a randomly generated session identifier, pages viewed and their order, time on page and engagement time, clicks and their position and target element, scroll depth, JavaScript errors, screen and viewport size, device class, browser and operating system family, referring website, and country. Novaverb does not request or store their name, email address, or precise location. Recording is off until you turn it on, and you remain the controller for this group.
Novaverb also processes the website content, crawl results, keywords, search metrics and connected-integration data you submit, which is normally about websites rather than about people, but may contain personal data where your own pages do.
7. Deletion and return
Upon account closure or written request, Novaverb will delete or return customer data where technically feasible and legally required, subject to backups, logs, billing records, security records, and legal obligations.
