How is CTR calculated?
Click-through rate is clicks divided by impressions, expressed as a percentage. The denominator matters: an ad platform counts an impression when the creative is served, while Search Console counts one when your result appears in a results page a searcher saw, so the two rates are not comparable.
What is the difference between CPC and CPA?
CPC is cost per click - spend divided by clicks. CPA is cost per acquisition - spend divided by conversions. A campaign can have an excellent CPC and an unusable CPA, which is why bidding to clicks alone hides the outcome that pays for the channel.
Is CPA the same as CAC?
No, and treating them as one number is a common reporting error. CPA usually counts a single conversion event against media spend. CAC counts the fully loaded cost of winning a customer, including salaries, tools and discounts, against customers actually won.
What does ROAS not tell me?
Return on ad spend divides revenue by media cost, so it ignores cost of goods, fulfilment, refunds and every non-media expense. A 4x ROAS on a product with a 20 percent margin is a loss. Use gross profit rather than revenue when the decision is whether to keep spending.
Which conversion rate should I enter?
Use the rate you have measured for the same audience and the same step you are modelling - visit to lead, or lead to customer - not a blended site-wide average. Mixing steps is what makes a KPI model look reasonable and behave nothing like the business.
Do these numbers prove a channel caused the result?
No. Every figure here is arithmetic on the inputs you supply. Attribution - deciding which touchpoint earned the outcome - is a separate question that needs your analytics and CRM definitions, and no calculator can settle it for you.
Are my figures sent anywhere?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and the values you type are not sent to Novaverb, stored, or used for anything else. Copy or download the output if you want to keep it.
