Backlinks Explorer

Know who links to you, who links to rivals, and where your internal authority flows.

Part of the Novaverb platform — every system runs on your own crawl, Search Console and analytics data.

Off-site authority is scattered across three disconnected questions — who links to you, who you link out to, and how your own pages link together — and most tools either invent inbound "toxic" verdicts or hide the internal graph entirely. Novaverb keeps all three in one place and never invents an inbound link your data can't prove.

Backlinks Explorer maps your referring domains and backlink profile, and pairs it with your internal link graph so you see authority the way search engines do.

Why teams choose it

What you get

Referring domains that matter

Your backlink profile and referring domains, harvested in full so you own the raw record — not a sampled snapshot.

Outbound & internal in one view

Outgoing Explorer and Internal Links show where your own authority leaks out and where it should flow instead.

Map of Content

Your internal-link graph and Schema entities, visualised — find orphan pages and strengthen your topic clusters.

Capabilities

Inside Backlinks Explorer

01

Inbound backlink profile

Import a backlink CSV or run an on-demand refresh to build a project-scoped inventory of every inbound link — referring domain, anchor, link type, Domain Rating and live/lost/redirect status. Each target page is joined to your crawl so you can see whether the authority lands on a healthy URL or is wasted on a broken or noindex page. Inbound links are never inferred from your crawl, so with no source connected the tables stay honestly empty.

  • Referring domains + Domain Rating (0-100)
  • Anchor mix: brand / naked-URL / generic / descriptive
  • Live / lost / redirect status
  • Target-page health (broken / noindex)
02

Outbound and internal link graph

The crawl-native twin views map every external site your pages link out to and every internal edge between your own pages, 100% observable from your own crawl with no paid index needed. See linked domains, outgoing anchors and insecure http:// destinations, plus your most-linked pages and internal anchor quality. High internal counts are honestly noted as usually driven by site-wide navigation, not editorial links.

  • Linked external domains + insecure http:// flag
  • Outgoing anchors and destinations
  • Most-linked internal pages
  • Internal anchor distribution
03

Map of Content fix queue

The internal-link graph becomes a ranked do-this-next queue: orphan and weak pages under three inbound internal links, links pointing at broken targets, pages four or more clicks deep, and generic or over-repeated anchors. Weak pages get a concrete link suggestion from a semantically related page or the strongest hub in the same folder. Signals it cannot yet measure — link position and link equity — are shown as insufficient, never green by absence.

  • Orphan / weak / deep pages
  • Broken internal link targets
  • Generic and over-repeated anchors
  • Suggested source page per weak URL

How it works

From signal to action

1

Connect a source

Import a backlink CSV (source and target URL required) or run an on-demand refresh to pull a live backlink profile for your domain.

2

Crawl your site

A site crawl populates the outgoing and internal link graphs and lets inbound targets be matched to real page health.

3

Work the tabs

Move through Backlinks, Referring Domains, Target Pages, Anchors and New & Lost to judge quality, then open Risk Review for evidence-based reclaim and review candidates.

4

Fix and export

Follow the Map of Content fix queue to strengthen weak pages, then export any view to CSV or a full Obsidian vault of your link graph.

The honest difference

Built to be trusted

Inbound links are never inferred from your crawl — no source connected means honestly empty, not a fabricated zero
Risk Review is evidence-based and review-first, never a one-click 'toxic' label
Outbound and internal link graphs are 100% crawl-native, with no paid index required
FAQ

Common questions

Where do the inbound backlinks come from?

You either import a CSV (source and target URL are the only required columns) or run an on-demand refresh that pulls a live backlink profile for your domain. A crawl alone cannot discover inbound links, so nothing is fabricated.

Why is my backlinks table empty?

No backlink source is connected yet. The referring-domains and backlinks tables stay empty until you import a file or run a refresh — Novaverb will not invent inbound links from crawl data.

What is the difference between outgoing and internal links?

Outgoing Explorer maps the external sites your pages link out to; Internal Links and Map of Content map how your own pages link to each other. Both are read straight from your crawl.

Can I export the link graph?

Yes. Every table exports to CSV, and Map of Content can export a full Obsidian vault of your pages with their inbound and outbound links.
