Connect Google Search Console for Real Data

Connect Google Search Console with Google sign-in so Novaverb shows real clicks, impressions, and query positions for your verified property.

Novaverb shows real search performance data — clicks, impressions, and the queries and positions your pages appear for — by connecting to Google Search Console (GSC). This data is never fabricated: if you have not connected GSC yet, those views stay honestly empty until you do. This guide walks you through connecting it.

Before you start

  • You need a Google account that already has access to your site's property in Google Search Console.
  • Your site should be a verified property in GSC. Novaverb reads the data Google already has for that property.
  • Have your Novaverb project for the same domain ready.

Connect with Google sign-in

  1. With your project selected, open the search data area and choose to connect Google Search Console.
  2. Sign in with Google (OAuth). You will be asked to grant Novaverb permission to read your Search Console data.
  3. Approve the requested access. Novaverb only needs read access to display your performance data.
  4. Select the property that matches your project's domain.
Novaverb reads your data — it does not change your Search Console settings or your site. If a permission prompt looks unfamiliar, confirm you are signing in with the Google account that owns the property.

Confirm real data is flowing

Once connected, the search data views populate with your actual metrics from Google:

  • Clicks — how often people clicked through from search results.
  • Impressions — how often your pages appeared in results.
  • Queries and position — the search terms you appear for and where you rank.

Because this comes straight from Google, Novaverb treats these rankings as Search-Console-authoritative — the source of truth for how your verified property actually performs.

If a view is empty

An empty view is expected and honest in a few situations:

  • You have not connected GSC yet — connect it to fill the view.
  • The connected property has little or no history for the selected period.
  • You connected a different property than the one your project targets — reconnect and pick the matching domain.

Novaverb will not invent numbers to fill a gap. An empty state simply means there is no real data to show for that selection.

Put the data to work

  1. Review your top queries to see what you already rank for.
  2. Cross-reference high-impression, low-click queries with your page titles and meta from Crawl Explorer to improve click-through.
  3. Combine GSC rankings with Keyword Intelligence to prioritize terms where you are close to breaking through.

With GSC connected, the rest of Novaverb can anchor its recommendations to how your site truly performs in Google Search — real evidence rather than estimates.
